In the hands of Roberta Gigante (b. 1986, Italy), listening becomes sculpture.
An ear with its distinctive outward curve — a genetic trait passed from mother to daughter through generations in the artist's family — merges with the soft, organic contours of an avocado. Human and botanical anatomy intertwine in a sculpture that speaks of connection, memory, and the porous boundaries between worlds.
Inspired by the ex voto tradition, 'The Whisper of the Ear' becomes a symbolic object, a personal relic turned universal portal. Through this intimate gesture, Roberta Gigante invites us to pause, to listen, to feel the vibrations that link body and environment, self and other.
