Thomas Müller (°1959) is one of the few contemporary artists working exclusively in the medium of drawing. For many years the permanently growing group of drawings in A4 format goes along with large-size drawings. The drawings generate an open network in which the single works complete, explain, comment, contrast each other. They always build new relationships.
In his third solo exhibition, entitled 'Squirm', at Kristof De Clercq gallery, the focus lies on recent large-scale drawings next to a wall installation of small works. 'Squirm' refers both to the winding, meandering structure of many drawings by Thomas Müller and to his work in general.
Thomas Müller's work is included in many private and museum collections like the Centre Pompidou (Paris), Hamburger Kunsthalle, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Staatliche Graphische Sammlung München, Städel Museum (Frankfurt), The Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation for Art (Michigan).
