The Van Gogh & Zundert Foundation is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Zonnebloemen voor Van Gogh on Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 PM at the Vincent Van Gogh Huis in Zundert.
100 years ago, Jo van Gogh-Bonger sold Vincent van Gogh's famous Sunflowers to the National Gallery in London. To mark this occasion, Van Gogh Brabant is organizing The Year of the Sunflower. Fields of colorful yellow flowers have been planted in numerous locations, and exhibitions are being held showcasing contemporary artists inspired by Vincent's Sunflowers.
The Van Gogh Huis is presenting works by Marc Mulders, Reinoud van Vught, Jorn van Leeuwen, Isabella Werkhoven, Jarik Jongman, Thijs Segers, Claudy Jongstra, Loek Grootjans, Erik Andriesse, Peter Kantelberg, Salvo, Chant van Lieshout, Esmee van Zeeventer, Danielle Hoogendoorn, Wouter van Riessen, Matijs van de Kerkhof, Rainer Fetting, Alberto Scodro, André Smits, and KASBOEK. A special loan will feature a painting by Isaac Israëls, which depicts Vincent's painting. He borrowed it before it was sold to the National Gallery and used it as a backdrop for his models.
