Tuukka Tammisaari – Recent Works

11 - 27 February 2022

Kunstraum Kesselhaus (Kunstverein Bamberg)

Since April 2021, Tuukka Tammisaari has been living in in a flat/studio, a dependance of Villa Concordia in Bamberg. After twelve years of working almost always in the same place in Helsinki, the artist's move to Bamberg was something special for him, and so he was already eager at the beginning of his stay to see how this time would affect his personality and his work in retrospect.

Up to now, works of art by Tuukka Tammisaari have been shown mainly in Northern Europe, in Finland, Denmark and Belgium. With his exhibition in Kunstraum Kesselhaus (Kunstverein Bamberg) in Bamberg, he has for the first time stuck his needle much further south into the globe.

The eleven months at the Künstlerhaus gave Tuukka Tammisaari the luxury of complete freedom to concentrate fully on new works under optimal conditions and confirmed his desire to live outside Finland for some time again soon.
