Léonard Pongo - Apophenia | book release x exhibition

Apophenia’, a new publication by gallery artist Léonard Pongo, will be released with an accompanying exhibition opening on 11.09.2025 at Maison CFC in Brussels.

For his latest project, 'Apophenia', Pongo embarks on sensorial journeys through the landscapes of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, capturing fragments of nature that echo traditional narratives and forms.

These images undergo a transformative process: gelatin transfers are lifted from paper and re-applied onto glass plates. The fragile films warp, tear, and fragment, producing unpredictable distortions. The result is a body of work where photography dissolves into new forms—obscured yet evocative—inviting viewers to see differently.

‘Léonard Pongo – Apophenia’ is part of the Non-couché/Uncoated series published by Maison CFC x ISELP.
